Fantasy Warbands (7th Voyage Greeks added 10th of October)
« on: June 18, 2015, 05:36:48 PM »
Hello folks.

I'm going to use this thread to chronicle my Fantasy work. I'll mostly be making warbands to use in skirmish games like those named in the title.

Up first:

"You merely adapted to the Ice. We were born to it, molded by it."

The idea for these guys was totally inspired by the Frostgrave setting, hence my adapted quote above.  :D

She is a Red Box Games figure from the first KS that RBG ran. Heavily modified because of some casting issues and to suit what I wanted. He is a Reaper Bones figure from Bones 2 KS, with RBG weapon (modified) and shield.

Next is a group that I was originally looking to make into Mormonts from A Song of Ice and Fire, but it felt a bit wrong since they were inspired by HVM's excellent rendition of the same. Instead, I am going to come up with some heraldry and colors for them that is not tied to any particular setting.

RBG figures again, modified with Perry Miniatures parts and in his case, weapons from Fireforge.

The 2 gents to the left are RBG modified with Perry and the one to the right is a Fireforge figure that I have started modifying.

Gent on the left is a Perry figure modified by me, and the one on the right is another RBG with Perry parts.

These two are straight RBG figures.

For Frostgrave, these two will be my Wizard (right) and Apprentice (left). He is a Reaper Bones figure modified with Perry parts, and she is a modified Bones figure.

That's what I have for now. I will warn that I tend to work slowly, so don't expect frequent updates. Lol.  :D

Thanks everyone for looking. Comments, criticism, and questions more than welcome.

~Eric

Those perry heads are used extremely well! Very inspirational. I especially like this guy (on the left):

They look really great! They'd make really good Mormonts (shame you're not going to paint them that way :D) but now I'm curious to what colours you'll use to paint them.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Been awhile since I've been able to work on any figures.

Had a few hours to spare recently and made a start on my fantasy Greek warbands to be used in 7th Voyage and Of Gods and Mortals.

First up, Othokles, favored of Hades:

Wargames Factory Heavy Armor Hoplite parts with lots of sculpting. Still very WIP.

Next is one of The Tormented:

Mantic Games zombie with WF Amazon and Hoplite parts plus lots of sculpting. I think this guy is done.

Lastly for today the Minotaur:

Reaper Miniatures Bones 2 Minotaur. I'll be cleaning him up and adding more Greek styled weapons and armor. Some of you may remember my first go at the original Bones Minotaur. I've abandoned that for now because I like the sculpting and proportions much better on this new one. Very WIP.

The theme of this group will be centered around Hades. I have a Sorcerer in progress and a Cyclops as well, but I can't seem to get pictures of them to save my life. Eventually there will be at least 5 of The Tormented and Hades himself.

Comments, criticism, and questions welcome.

Thanks for looking.
