Painted Innsmouth butcher
« on: June 27, 2015, 06:06:04 PM »
Since I've been selling this for Phil Hynes, the row of them have been staring at me all grey so I decided to do something about it. It also looked really fun to paint with the nice large areas.

I used to paint alll the time. Before I worked...alll the time. My painting mojo has been pretty dead. I have a bunch of SAGA still undercoated, a load of minis for my trade show display cabinet...base coated. I've been really struggling. I painted some mouslings at new year, two CP Models in April, and that has literally been it! I've been a bit better this week - started on some OTT fantasy stuff from On The Lamb. Basically I'll never be able to paint anything I don't stock stock again! But at least I can choose the ones that appeal to me the most, call it work, and ship off the ones that will take forever/give me a headache/need better justice to better painters :D

So Phil has a lot more planned. This was good to practice pallid sort of flesh. As with anything, the photo doesn't do it justice - it's also from a not too great camera phone! Be kind, lest I sneak back under a rock and throw all my paints back under the bed!  lol

Cheers!

I like how he's turned out, but his glass eye looks a little funny ;)

He looks ten times better in person, I'll have another go at photographing him when I get my camera! He has a lovely slimy fishy eye.
