Lovely paint job - very nice indeed!...and I must say an excellent 2nd Afghan War range by Artizan...they slipped by me. Very comprehensive.

Snook's book looks good. He certainly is producing superb stuff. It'd be great if he widened his Victorian field of view and explored some of the lesser campaigns or expeditions so perhaps we'll see that in the future...certainly a good time to be interested in the Victorian 'Scramble for Africa' period.

I agree. Still, one can only work at a certain pace. Perhaps there will be something akin to what you describe in the years to come(?). Time will tell.

Wonderful work indeed Darrell !

Which colours did you use for the khaki?
They look really slendid and suitable.

One of the AK Paints British WWI Uniform sets- well, the lightest colour in that set and highlighted up with Vallejo Model Colour Ivory.

Hope that helps? There are two British sets- I'll check to see which one I used and report back today.

Hi Darrell,

many thanks, that would help indeed.
Or maybe a VMC colour that works as well?

Cheers

Hi Darrell,

No probs- happy to help :)

many thanks, that would help indeed.
Or maybe a VMC colour that works as well?

It was AK English Uniform Light so a good Vallejo Model Colour equivalent for a base coat would be VMC Khaki Light with a bit of VMC Light Sand (or perhaps something slightly darker mixed in). I've had a good look through all my Vallajo paints and I couldn't find a direct equivalent.....  o_o

Hope that is of some help Stefan?

Darrell.

Sure, thanks again!

The VMC mixture sounds like a good point to start from. I'll try it at the new Perry plastics as soon as they hit my painting table.

Cheers
