Crossing the Nyezane River. Battle report with pictures.
« on: 22 July 2015, 05:31:00 PM »
A new scenario I've worked up for my Colonial rules is the crossing of the Nyezane River by Colonel Pearson on the 22nd January 1879, quite a day for the British in Zululand all things considered.

Anyway, I need a small kraal for the scenario so I've made one from three Empress huts and some willow twigs. Not particularly accurate as far as layout goes but serviceable and quick to make. The huts will remain separate so I can use the stockade for other things if need be.

I'm currently updating my colonial rules to include several Zulu War scenarios and Nyezane will be the first of several I'll be writing and playing through prior to publication. I'll add details here as I go along.

Here's the finished kraal:

I've also made a new board and repainted my hills so I'm hoping to get some shots of the Nyezane set up tomorrow.

This might sound like an obvious question but just to be certain, this is for your own rules, yeah?

Darrell.

To further enhance the anticipation here's a write up of a play through of the Nyezane River scenario.
