More Lion Rampant-spam!
Having completed a varied force for our LR 1340's campaign, I've turned to the large pile of perry plastics and metals I've been hoarding for some years now. Inspired by Dan's article in Wargames Illustrated on condottiere I thought "why not" and jumped into some painting.
For reference I've not really used anything solid, and there's bound to be some anachronism in this, but here's some of my first units painted up, with more on the way:
Sienese crossbowmen
hiding taking cover behind some pavises
German mercenary pikemen (I know these don't really belong on this board, but the rest of the stuff will be more medieval, I promise!)
And some works in progress:
Sienese swordsmen
Florentine commandante in Medici livery
Anyway, I have some more stuff in the pipeline. The thought was to gather two small cores of city-state infantry (foot yeomen and crossbows/bidowers) and then add some more mercenaries and use the rules for bidding on the units before each fight, as instructed by Dan, giving the players a bit more variation in retinues for each fight.
