The classics return to the battlefield - unfortunately one of the antennas snapped off when I took the pictures.   :'(
I hope the well-knowing BT fans can tell me whether I painted the cockpit in the right spot or not.   ;)

This kind of threadomancy I can get behind :D Great looking mechs, I play a bunch of MW Online at the mo but your posts make me want to unearth Mechcommander next haha!

Do you have a personal preference re. sculpt quality for Ral Partha and Iron Wind or are they the same line? The RP Europe site mechs seem to vary in quality but then again photos are merciless in general and paintjobs can help so...?

I prefer the original Ral Partha sculpts because I grew up with those old designs. Everything post the in-game year 3058 is an era of playing Battletech that I am really not interested at all. Plus, many newer designs or re-sculpts are really off in size compared to the older miniatures. Since I also want to play Alpha Strike with them, I want my 20 ton Mech to look smaller and not the size of a 70 ton Warhammer  ;)

Nice to see some Smoke Jaguars.  I'm more of a Ghost Bear fan myself, but I love seeing any of them.  Nice work.

Thanks, plenty of them still to paint.

1st Jaguar Guards Bravo Assault Star "Man O' War" Mech

This is an old Ral Partha sculpt, I have only added SRM-6 launchers from the Iron Wind Metal Omni-Mech part catalogue to finish off a "prime" configuration.

For the Assault Star I had to paint another "Loki", so here he is:

Yes, I actually did paint a second one.

After a lot of urgent family matters I finally got back to the painting table. This conversion of Ral Partha's Nobori-nin to represent the Bravo configuration is my latest work.
