Imperial [40k] Ship Interior - Build Diary
« on: 15 August 2015, 09:18:38 PM »
Hey all,
Thought id start posting about my latest project for a client of mine. He was after a board representing a ship interior for their tie-in games for BFG.

I started with a simple mud map sketch and went from there. Overall there's 3 sections (Bridge/control, Cargo and weapons) a long with a bunch of corridors to connect them with.

Here's the plans I went ahead with.

Stay Tuned....

Laying down some measurements of the weapons bay  8) Its basically going to be the back of a large gun, with some loading rails leading away from the rear of the loading section.

Interesting start do you intend on multilevelled board, rather than a flat space constricted by its detailing?

Its all one flat level, Itll make gaming easier. Its kinda modular in design but not so much that I need to split each section up into multiple parts.

More progress on the weapons bay. Ive started detailing and build the base of the gun. LOTS more to do  ;D

Wibble.  :-*

What are those things you're using for the gun's rivets? The sticky-backed half-pearl thingies?

Very nice! So you say these are supposed to be used for a BFG narrative?

I'm liking this and it's only just begun! Can't wait to see the room done and painted.
Any plans for even more rooms after you have finished your first plans?

I Believe this is all the client wants for now, but he mentioned that he may want a few more sections.

Yep, thats what the client indicated to me :P Im pretty unfamiliar with it myself.

MORE progress over night  8)

Ive finished the detailing and most of the build, and ill probably start painting today...thinking mostly warm grays and plenty of rusted metallic details  :-*

Cor that's nice.  :-* Nicely finished. One or two more cyclopean machines and AdMech icons, and that'd be the interior of the Speranza in my mind's eye!
