Does anyone make separate shields of this type?
« on: January 26, 2016, 03:23:58 PM »
Hello all, not a proper medieval question as such, but I am curious: does anyone sell separate shields of this type?

He is a warrior from Bhutan but it looked like some Saracen shields I have seen (though not in 28mm) so I thought one of you might know.  :)

Its a pretty standard C19 Indian buffalo hide shield type known as a 'dhal' in use in N India by the Sikhs, Rajputs and Afghans etc. You should be able to pick some up from anyone who does C19 colonial figures of this ilk.

I think Foundry used to have some.

Lammings used to have a wide range of shields, some very similar to the ones you are asking about, but I don't know who has the range now.
