minis needed- skeletons
« on: November 02, 2008, 10:09:37 PM »
I need to get some skeletons to fight my Foundry Argonauts.  I'm trying to get some that look like the ones from Jason and the Argonauts.  For those that don't know, plain skeletons with large round shields and swords and spears.  Thanks for any help.

I was going to recommend the old GW plastic skeletons, but it looks like these have been taken from the catalogue.  Maybe you can find some on Ebay or similar place?

I thought of the GW plastic ones first off too.

I saw some that I thought were very Harryhausen recently - possibly Otherworld???

The Otherworld ones are beauties

Also Frothers have a nice break down of Skeleton minis

Eureka have Skeletons too even Hoplites, they do seem a little fragile but I havent seen them in the flesh

Ebob is going to have some nice ones coming out soon, but you'll have to arm them yourself. Steve Barber I think has a dedicated Greek myth range as well.

Another vote for the Otherworld ones (at least until I get mine done). They are beautiful in my opinion.

I agree that the Otherworld figures are beautiful, but a bit too pricy for me.  I was looking around for the old plastic skeleton box set from GW but with no luck.  Not sure how many I need, I guess enough to give my Argonauts a good fight. Shipping shouldn't be a problem as I'm in the US.  Thanks for the help.

Have you looked at these? They're not the greatest sculpts but they're armed with the right weapons and pretty cheap, plus there are gems in the range (except for the hydra).

Reaper makes skeletons exactly like those you are looking for.
