Treasure Hunt
« on: November 04, 2008, 02:58:57 PM »
Another Rattrap inspired game - this time LotR.

I haven't written down the scenario in electronic form, yet, but basically 3 BCs on a 3x3 table with 9 encounter-markers (3 per BC). We used the 'Wild Search' rules for deployment.

Initial board

First antagonists have arrived:

Demise of a High Elf:

The men of Dol Amroth fend off some Elves:

And some furios fighting over an objective...:

From now on things got from bad to worse, and I forgot to take any more pics...  :?

My Uruks triggered the advent of some Dimloki (Barrow Wights) and I was unlucky/unskilled enough to have them hunt my poor baddies. The Elves were wiped out, and although the Knight of Dol Amroth was wounded, the Men-at-Arms carried the most treasure off the table, thus winning the day for Gondor...

I'll see if I can write the scenario up for attachment.... soon... I hope.....

Nice!

It's good to see some Lord of the Rings action.

I just noticed. How cool!

How did it work for the players?

We all agreed, that it is a very cool contraption! It is so nice to have somewhere to put the rosters, dice, rules, drinks, and jellyfish....

We very quickly adopted a practice of putting a round piece of cork on an unoccupied part of the tableedge to slam the dice-cup onto when we had to roll dice - it was then immediately removed after the result had been calculated. Everyone could see the dice, and they did not get in the way during movement.

I'm very happy with the table!  8)

I just attached some strips of magnet to the underside of it, and to the folding legs, so they are now kept in place during transport  :)
