He who lurks...
« on: November 09, 2008, 03:14:42 AM »
...should post!

Or at least this is what I have thought lately.
I have had an account for a long time now, but never bothered to use it, especially when the forum moved over. Now that I have looked at enough shiny things, I have felt the need to post just a little bit more.

So I shall say Hi!

I go to the same club as 'Overlord', dare I call myself 'Battle Honours' (some of you may get that, probably no-one though)?

I have painted from a very young age and consider myself more of a painter, modeller and general fluff writer than a gamer. I enjoy little adventuring scenarios, I would design more, but I simply do not have the lead, or money, or job to create the money to support it!
I mostly play 'Historo-fantasy' games, a term invented (I believe, tell me if I'm wrong Mac or anyone) by Steve Blease (now of) Wessex Games, that refers to fantasy games with a historical twist. Usually, they are not just carbon copies of a historical time with fantasy creatures in place, but hold certain tongue in cheek similarities.
I also dabble in post-apocalypse, I have tried to dabble in VSF and Colonial, but as I say, I have never had enough time, space or money to support it!   :(
Otherwise, I mostly play your normal high-fantasy, I am looking at Song of Blades and Heroes (insert real name here if I have got it wrong!) and also play HOTT (from time to time 15mm). As all gamers my age, it seems to be law to play at least one GW game, and that is 40k. I also play Necromunda (1st edition), Man o War and Blood Bowl.

Anyway, I shan't bore you anymore with my incessant rambling.
Hope to have some interesting chats,
Rob

If you are who I think you are [I've cunningly linked "Battle Honours" and Abingdon], I've bought quite a bit of stuff from you at various shows and always had excellent service.

If you're not, then I'm just a rambling drunken fool.

Welcome, anyway  :D
