I posted this in another form so some of you might have seen this already
Been working on this off and on for a while. More off then on but recently was  inspired by some of the other castles on the forms.
The castle is finish well 80% done in a half-a**  Fashion I guess.
I copied as best I could the painting of the base from another modeler and try to add some of the details Snake has done.

It is made from Styrofoam cardboard and balsa wood .
No original methods were used in the construction I pretty much copied what other people have done. I'm pretty much a copycat .
I didn't use any plan or drawing made pretty much like the Winchester mystery House ....lol
I'm remodeling from the ground up so I'll post pic of what's done so far

Please post any suggestions or comments.

Nothing wrong with being a copy cat. Lovely base to work from.

I realize this could be a endless project.
I repainted and some parts and think it's as good as it gets.
Just need to finish the Shachihoko then that's it!
Ok....maybe just a bit more touch up then that's it!
Maybe I'll never be done I guess just like a really house.

Impressive! What did you use for the gold decorations on the gables? Also what did you use for the shachihoko?

I'll try to do a tutorial later but it almost all  aluminum foil painted gold.
Not ready sure it would actually a gold color during that period.
For the shachihoko it's just made from air dry clay. I been  searching for miniature versions of them for a long time but gave up and  ended up sculpturing.

I built a couple of 15mm honmaru of Japanese castles nearly 20 years ago and struggled with the shachihoko. In the end, I used some Late Roman 'windsock' standards as a base, but even then it needed a fair bit of modification.

I been looking for a while. I saw on another site that someone used iPhone jacks? Huh? No other details but I'm assuming those were  decorations  that some people use to dangle from the jack plug of their phones.  Never was able to find auto found some Pokémon ones that were interesting.
I found it easier to make then i thought. Not great looking but good enough for a war game display. I post some better pic later.

The easy way to get things for it is to look at the beads section...a lot of the animal shaped ones tend to have a few that work quite well with a bit of paint and perhaps a dab of filler over the hole
