Your best bet would be model railway civilians in OO scale or 1/76.  I would check the catalgues of  Bachmann and Dapol. Bachmann definitely do a set of painted British police, and Dapol have unpainted station platform civvies.

There's an old Airfix set of civilians that is very 50s - 60s in appearance.

Beware of HO scale models - these are 1/87 and may not be close to what you want.  Noch, Preiser and Faller all sell lots of HO/OO figures, whaever that means - check how big they are in a shop first.  There's a big range though, including couples having it away!

Modern or older?  Quite a few folks make 20mm civilians for WWII and earlier

Elheim Figures have some gems and the Winter of '79 blog has a list of good suppliers. Well worth checking out.

Ack! Sorry, should have noticed this is the Gothic Horror board... I've given you links to very modern looking coppers, but both Mat & Rolf would consider sculpting up what you need if there was enough interest.

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Wow, those TQD Castings Police are truly sharp. Hadn't noticed them before.  8) :-*

Sgt's Mess have some very nice kit. Well worth looking into.

I've bought from Elheim, CP Models and Sgt's Mess for my WWII project, all great traders.

Hello,

for police in 1/72 HäT no. 8299 & 8237 are my first choice. Zulu War British Command & Zulu War British Infantry in dark blue dress are close enough for me. But there are TQD or SHQ for police in tin. Good luck,
