Frostgrave plastic soldiers base
« on: September 23, 2015, 05:29:57 PM »
Hello. I'll soon start painting Frostgrave pewter minis, but before that i'll put them on 25mm bases. In order to have a homogeneous warband, i'd like to know if plastic soldiers bases are 2 or 3mm thick (i ordered a box but haven't got it yet). I want everyone to be on the same level in the warband!  ;)

They look to me like 1.5mm, possibly 2mm but definitely not 3mm.

I think it's 1.5mm, but I simply ordered a bunch of Renedra bases to keep things consistent.

Are those like the 20x20 bases in Mantic's KoW?

They're the flat round plastic renedra bases I think in the soldiers box, but I can't quite recall. I've not used them to base my soldiers as I've used spare GW-style slotta bases to match the rest of my collection. I've used mine instead to base my other treasure tokens to match the size of the resin frostgrave treasure tokens

Metal washers. Adds weight, allows for magnetizing for transport, is dirt cheap, very homogenous and they are practically the same size as the bases. Bigger ones available for bigger units, the only problem could be the holes, but the integrated bases fix that.

Hi everyone, and thanks for your answers! I still have thin 25 mm MDF bases somewhere, i'll use them to do my own treasure tokens & to base some Reaper minis as well. I'll post pics asap! And thanks again for the information, it's always nice when you have a good community ready to help you when you start a new hobby project ;)

I can confirm that they are Renedra bases.

I like 1 1/4 inch washers...they add some weight to the figures and can be placed in a magnetic box to avoid them getting damaged...
