Over the past year, every now and again I've been rebasing my Anglo Danes. They have been in a seemingly perpetual state of having no bases, no filler, no texture, paint nor tufts. After a day of being knee deep in my studio on one of my famous tidying up jobs (yeah, it's worse then ever!) I had to stop and do something wargames related, though technically that's what my studio is!

So, here they are rebased! I remember when I removed the last bases they took a bit of punishment as I has superglued them to the bases, a mistake that I will never make again! It was noticeable that there was the odd chip that needed touching up so please, if you find any in the images please don't point them out to me!

The idea is to rebase them for the rules that the guys are playing at the club (WAB, To the Strongest) and for rules that I plan to introduce to the club (Swordpoint and Dux Bellorum).

There are more pictures on my blog plus a list of manufacturers etc here:

Thanks guys  :)

Another two mini's to finish then that's Unit 2 completed. Then a couple of Command Bases and Sheildwall Markers.

Once painted I've got to go through the zen like ritual of glossing them, leaving a week for the gloss to fully settle before matting down  o_o

Cheers guys :)

Very nice. Love the wood on your weapons.

There's a right old mix of old and newly hewn woods i that unit. Same with the next one that is on it's way very soon.

They look great!  Rebasing a finished unit? An action I can't fathom ever doing.  lol

Maybe a new movement tray with filler but never a new base.   Takes me way too long to get them finished in the first place.

Believe me it is not my favourite pass time! Especially when I actually superglued the mini's to the bases!  >:(

Maybe a new movement tray with filler but never a new base.   Takes me way too long to get them finished in the first place.

They were on much larger bases prior to this and the basing system didn't at all match any of the rules I plan on using so I had no choice. I'm not normally fussed about a few cm here and there and as I'm only basing two units of Anglo Danes, the rest are to be painted , it's not that much of a sacrifice  lol

It does drive one potty but hey, they're rebased now with complete with extra newly painted miniatures :)

The second unit is now complete and apart from some rough work trying to prise the miniature from their previously superglued bases I did get to paint up four or five extra mini's so not all was so stressful!

There are a load of other images from different angles etc of the unit on my blog as well as links that hint at what is to come

Basing is definitely my least favorite task.  But as your pictures attest, they units look really good in their new form.   Nice work.

Thanks for the goodly words guys  :)

Basing is definitely my least favorite task.

It's not basing per se, it's rebasing that is soul destroying- especially if you used superglue  :'(  Needless to say that this will never happen again! :)

But as your pictures attest, they units look really good in their new form.   Nice work.

Thanks, there's another unit on it's way now. :)
