Judge Dredd/Near Future project
« on: October 09, 2015, 05:14:29 PM »
I'm not going to pretend that I can paint anywhere as well as many of the members, here.  I would, however, like to share my Judge Dredd project with you (because I like sharing).

http://generalgulliver.blogspot.com/2015/10/a-dredd-ful-post-title.html

This first post on my blog sort of rambles on about what I think of the quality of the miniatures.  I won't bore you with that stuff here, but will be getting on with the pictures!   lol

Very fine painting, I would be delighted with that result.

That Foundry Dredd really shows up the Warlord/Mongoose one doesn't it? I have the Judge Dredd starter set from Warlord and I'm looking forward to getting some games of it in, but some of the figures are definitely a bit lame in terms of casting quality and detail. As you say, though, some are pretty good!

I look forward to more of your stuff being posted!

Thanks, Gibby.

I also have the starter set and I think that the miniatures in it are not really the best choice for introducing someone to the line.
The gang miniatures are mostly fun and the limited edition models are beauties, but the stuff that comes in the Justice Department box are a poor representation.

Yeah the gangers are pretty good. The Justice Set... well, I thought about replacing them with Foundry versions. You can tool up a few Judges enough to make a much smaller yet gameable force anyway!

The Foundry models are really nice.  I picked up the Specialist Judges set from Warlord and the sculpts are an improvement over the starter set.
I haven't painted any of the up yet.

Really nice painting, I'm impressed. And has definitely convinced me to get hold of the Foundry Dredd. I've got a few of the Warlord gangers, but em4's 'Future Skirmish' range is a good source of (cheaper) back-ups.

Very nice and crisp paint jobs. The figures are looking cool.

http://generalgulliver.blogspot.com/2015/10/murder-incorporated.html

Two organized criminals or corporate security enforcers.
The first is a Copplestone that was fun to paint.  I'm not entirely happy with the paint job on the second one, a Foundry miniature, but I think it is okay enough to play with.

A riot judge and a street judge, both from Mongoose/Warlord.
It's funny how you don't always notice flaws in paint jobs until you've looked at their pictures....

A really nice set. The the front shot of purple lady almost looks real and the two tone glasses on the ganger makes his grimace appear even wilder.
