You could always buy a box and just keep a couple of sprues for yourself and sell the rest either on here or eBay, as I've seen others do before, or wait for others to do that and buy a couple of their sprues? Or buy them and hope they come in useful down the line? I'm already thinking of different uses for when I get mine, in the fantasy era, evil knights in black like Bavmordas forces in Willow

I fully intend to kitbash mine into fantasy figures, since I don't game historicals.  I love anything unique and a bit different.

Great, now I'm thinking about how to build Erik and his men!  Greek helmets, capes, Viking bodies?

Yeah, I'll likely grab a box once they're out for retail - plastic sets are affordable enough that even if I only have a planned use for a handful, the rest will almost certainly get used up one way or another.

I have every intention of doing this myself too! That movie's costume design really captured my imagination as a sprout.  :)

Why not just use the bodies from this box, using Greek style helmets and a different paint job for Eric's force?

Seems some of the heads could be used for GoT Sun/spear southerners .

Can't really disagree, Humakt. :) I think they'll be good 'nuff for most applications, but it would've been nice to have some extra polish in some areas.

I wonder if people would buy add-on bits of weapons with moulded-on hands, or at least closed fists for drilling out and sticking wire spears through...? :?

It's perfectly possible to cast gripping hands and spears together - GB include them in the plastic Saxon boxset, and Perry medievals grip the hafts of their weapons well enough, to name but two.

Yeah I think you've found GW's historical inspiration for their high elf armour style

It's uncanny! I always thought the elves were meant to be like some kind of hittites or assyrians or something, but shows what I know. ;D
