Have a little GOT project on the go: styled as per the TV series and not the books (which I haven't read  ;)).

Two of my favourite factions are the Boltons and the Wildings, and I plan 20 foot for each.

I've started with the Boltons and GoT-fandom has pretty much provided all the research I need, except for two things...... Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't have the DVDs to look back.

1) an image of a good rear view of a foot soldier, showing the make-up of the leathers, etc, that are worn over the armour/mail

2) confirmation that for the pendants and flags, the area to the right of the sigil is plain red (ie, without imagery or text) ..... (In the preceding image I think that the black mark on the red of the pendant is maybe a tear)

Many thanks  :)

FYI, the Boltons will be conversions of Perry HYW metals using parts from their plastic WotR boxes and also from the plastic Conquest Normans. I'm expecting a fair amount of GSing to get the outer leathers right  :D

Btw, one thing I'm not sold on is their portrayal as using recurve bows rather than longbows: given their lands are wooded, the recurves strike me as stylisation for TV (the Wildlings will be getting recurves instead).  ;)

If I see any pies, chips, gravy, whippets or flat caps in your figures I won't be happy  >:D

Whippets are the wrong side of the country but some bozo always mentions them  ::)

cheers

Oh, blimey!
You as well?

You really should not let the other boys talk you into things, ya know.
 ;)

Seriously, though, I look forwrd to seeing your work on this as I know that you have plenty of raw material to work with on this one so I know it will be good.
 :D

Thank you Paul  :D

Though I've already made a mistake with the shields that I have to go back and rework!  :'(

PS: I wasn't talked into it...... I'm just in a converting/sculpting frame of mind (this and Old West)  ;)

No doubt the second option will prove better.
 :D

And it also sounds like your mojo is well and truly in the groove for this one.

Burn it? I have form on that!  ;D

Anyways, all this fantasising about whippet drawn pod racers with drivers wearing flat caps while eating pies dunked in gravy (with a side* of fat chips to upgrade it from 'tea' to 'supper') is fascinating but doesn't answer my most important question ......

...... What does one of Ramsay Bolton's leather-clad soldiers look like from behind? I've poured over soooooo many YouTube vids but can I find a clip? No!

*Side? Side! What am I talking about?! They'd just come in the same wrapper* as the pie

*And by wrapper I mean a sheet from yesterday's newspaper, probably the page with the whippet racing form/results

And back on topic  ;)

I managed to find the answer to the pendant/banner question.... The red section is actually toothed.

You forgot to mention black pudding...

Those have to be the silliest pseudo-medieval helmets I've ever seen in any TV series anywhere ever. Please don't do those Steve.

For what it's worth I think they've got the sigil wrong too. The flayed man is described as red on a pink field. I think the TV art director just made those banners up. Still, if it's the TV look you're after, fair enough  ;)

I think you're right about the longbow.

I've only done three Boltons so far, Roose, Ramsay and a mate. But I'm going to do some more soon...

I'm really looking forward to see what you come up with! I love GoT threads and really should go back to my own... ::)

I think if you'd sculpt some guys, you really should cast them and sell them in your store; no mattter what faction you'll be doing, I'll buy them anyways, as I love both your style and GoT mini's :)
