'Ironclad Miniatures' Steam Robots
« on: October 23, 2015, 12:55:31 PM »
Hi All,

I picked up some of Ironclads 28mm VSF range a while ago when they had a big sale and today I've been baby sitting my mum (she had an eye op) so thought I'd use my day/night 'off' to paint up the steam robots I ordered.

These are imaginative, cool looking, nicely detailed and well cast figures. They go well with the other 28mm figures I have.

I only got 8 I wish I had ordered more! I have some armoured infantry to paint up from 'Ironclad' too.

Robots advance!

Robots close up...

Robots with a 'stiff upper lip' type British Officer to control them.

You ARE aware that your opponents love the 'single point of failure'. He's shudda stayed behind the wall.  lol

Bit strange seeing pith and redcoat with the pickelhaubes, but just for scale. Or is that part of an officer exchange program?  :D

They are handsome, no? AND a large can of whupass!

Thanks!

Doug

The chap is a shirker!
Any decent officer should be leading from the front not waddling about at the back like some kind of engineer.

Tank officers in 1916 used to frequently dismount and lead their vehicles forward with a stick (so their drivers could avoid the worst of the craters. But the officers couldn't avoid the snipers)

Love those bronze moustaches! :DD

Too bad they are to big for my purposes.

I wonder if I could get away with painting some normal 6mm figures all in metalics.

Excellent "armored infantry."  But I agree that they look more Prussian.

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments!

These robot figures will be 'mercenary' and can fight with whichever VSF side that buys them in my games. The armoured infantry I have will be half red jacketed and half blue so they too can fight with any nationality.

These figures do indeed look Prussian but the British army were not strangers to spiked helmets...the Britsh 1878 Pattern Home Service Helmet (image from Photobucket)...

The Yankee army even used them for a while the the late 19th century.

Cheers!
