Fenryll Miniatures - any thoughts ?
« on: November 18, 2008, 02:14:45 PM »
So here I am looking at fantasy figures for some reason seen lots ordered some reaper ones, some on back order I hope they come.

But I've also looked at fenryll, some pictures good some a bit strange, don't really look like miniature photo's.

Does anyone have them and what are they like, good ?

Lots of different sculpting styles. I have some. They are generally well detailed, but casts can be a bit messy (lots of flash). The resin is rather soft, which makes cleaning easy (but you still need to be careful as you'll slice right through them if you exert a bit too much pressure).

Of course, this was years ago, so may have changed now. Some nice models.

I've been wanting to get the cannon with the renaissance dwarves for ages.

Often "almost" bought some but never actually have.  Resin puts me off in general.  Some of the "Weird" figures have a particular appeal.

No help to you, I know.  But I'll be watching this thread...

I have some and I think they're lovely figures, nicely designed. My only criticism is the internal bases which I need to remove, if you like the base style then you have no worries.

I've bought Fenryll's beggars for my Medieval tournament project. Glad I hadn't bought more of their civilians as they are way too huge to go along with my other 28mm's. Very sad, those are nice sculpts, but far too heroic in scale for my taste.

I've got a few, and have to agree that the human sized figures are on the large side. Demons and beasties are great though.
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

I think sizes are all over the place. The earlier ones are smaller IIRC.

looks like scale is going to be an issue then, maybe I'll a couple and see how they match up.

I also like the look of Warcrow, wierd, darkslave etc...

I was a bit sad that I ordered 12 reaper minis from a uk stockist and only got 2 but i suppose they are quite old minis and may be oop or ood , I hope I can get them on back order as I like the two highlanders I have got.

I may have some older Fenryll and Reaper figures for trade, if you let me know which ones you're after, I can dive in the lead/resin pile to see if I have any of those.

That's a jolly nice offer, but I don't have much to trade with, what sort of stuff are you looking for?

I have some artizan cowboys and bandido's I bought but don't know what to do with and some Imperial guard 40k stuff some painted some not, and some space wolves in various states of painted not painted in bits etc...
