Amazing retro futurism, probably one of the coolest boards I've ever seen.  Wow, just super creative.  I love all the fins sticking out everywhere.

And yep, that is one awesome project.

Wish my city building skills were as "bad" as yours!

Thanks everyone for the look in and compliments. I am not much of a forum user other than to look in and glean ideas. The talent, skill and imagination that I find here is inspiring. Hopefully when I do post you will see one of your projects or ideas imitated. Some of the retro future cars are by Archer toys that circulated alongside the Marx futuristic cars. I like grabbing old toys from EBay and incorporate them into my theme. It adds to the underlying cartoony and toy like foundation.
In addition the "googie" style, retro space google searches are another source of inspiration. The book "Blast Off" is an excellent reference book that I keep drawing from as well. Hydra and Bombshell miniatures are my chief source for relevant figures. Watching others build their scenery boards including all the urban ones here and among Infinity players really motivates me to be productive.
Things haven't been cheap grabbing from all sources of scifi scenery resins and bidding on EBay, but I figure that after the initial monetary output and building up the physical background of Planetoid 51, then any further need to create and invest will dwindle.

What you are creating is simply wonderful, an homage to the imaginings of the future from an era long past. Whether for display or practical gaming, you're creating a superb display of the art and craft and ingenuity for adaptation that is the foundation of this wonderful hobby we all share. Most excellent work indeed! 8)
