My first zombie survivors
« on: November 20, 2008, 09:44:47 PM »
They're finished!
This means the pressure is off for the zombie game I'll be taking part in. All that I must have is now finished, and anything more I get done between now and the 29th is bonus...

For some reason the individual pictures came out rather blue (but then again, the camera batteries were on the verge of collapse.):
Drenthe Janssen, Explorer, Occult Historian, part/time Archaelogist...
And his backpack.

His niece Alice
And a shot of her large, curvy..... hair...
Their large, lazy and somewhat weird, housecat Cheshire.
His fat rear end.

The survivors stop to ask for directions:

"Just head out onto the A2, it's past those houses. Just watch out for the zombies" the cop says.
"Zombies!?" thinks Cheshire, and "Poof" he goes:

I painted the stem of the marker in the same colours as the base. From normal tabletop heigth, you hardly notice it...

Now I'll just have to hope they survive a town full of zombies...

Naw, it's just the new 2009 deluxe model, it's got 20% more of what makes Hummer special (20% more size, weight an also 20% more gas consumption and sheer stupid)!

Nicely painted and I got to say I love the invisible cat! I think I might have to borrow that idea for something or other.

Great (mental) cat. How about one of these from Heresy for a zombified version?

Fantastic work.

Like the bases - did you use plain beach sand or some kind of textured paint? (I remember that it is possible to buy something called 'granite paint' or something similar, meant for adding a stone effect to objects)

Only one thing: I would try to dot in a pupilla with a 0.05 black marker in the eyes of Janssen - I think the blue colour is nice, but to me his expression looks just a little bit 'blank' as is. I don't know if it looks different 'in the flesh', though, and don't mind my personal taste if you disagree  ;)

I have to get some zombies/survivours from Hasslefree, soon - that Alice is a wonderful mini  :)

Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

have to say i love the invisible cat too, it reminded me of something similar i did about 15 years ago when i worked at Total Fantasy (a shop selling various miniatures)
i put some milliput on a spare slottabase, textured it to look like grass and imprinted 2 footprints into it. painted the whole thing up and placed it in the for sale cabinet as an invisible chaos dwarf (purely as a joke 'cos i was bored).
i sold 5 in all at £2.50 each, not bad for a few plastic bases with a blob of milliput each  lol
ahhhh the good old days...

Dijit: Borrow away!

Citizen Sade: Good idea! I'll be "needing" to order some stuff from Heresy anyway for the Hellgate idea, I'm going to add him to the list.

Argonor: I'm lucky to live near some inland dunes... Walk in with small empty bucket, walk out with full bucket. Leave to dry, sieve out the detritus, presto! It's slightly finer that the standard white birdsand. The right type of beach sand should work too.

Hmm, in real life it isn't as noticeable, but Drenthe does indeed look a bit, erm, "medicated". Alice actually has the same colour eyes, but they are shaded by her hair.

Muleskinner: Hey, build something only a fool would buy, and discover just how many fools there are...  :D

Who's this Bagpuss character anyway? I'm guessing some old BBC show? Hmmm, maybe I'll need to do some research....
