The Secret Laboratory of Dr. Munro: a Pulp Alley AAR: NEW PHOTO
« on: November 09, 2015, 04:50:05 PM »
AN AAR of the Pulp Alley scenario I presented Nov. 7 at the World at War gaming Day at Fort Meigs, Perrysburg Ohio. A truly great time was had by all! A full-sized-easier-to-read PDF of the AAR is here:

I was talking aloud to myself. A habit of the old: they choose the wisest person present to speak to; the long explanations needed by the young are wearying.

Thanks! Can't take credit for all the figures....I did Black Widow and her crew plus Capt. Wolf; Mila did Pulp Girl AKA Montana Annie, Phantom Ace, and Mak, and the rest were done by Pictors Studio in beautiful Ligonier, Pennsylvania. I have a bunch of Victorian Sci Fi minis for In Her Majesty's Name, and they work just great with Pulp Alley!  :D I did do the scenics, except the buildings from Crescent Root Studio come pre-painted. Check out his stuff---it's superb!

All of us had a wonderful time. John, a veteran gamer who ran Capt. Wolf's Pirates, made it a point to tell me afterwords what great fun he had. This coming from a guy who lost 3 of his 4 characters and never came anywhere near the major plot point!

Dave sent me Fortune Cards as gifts for the players, and they also were a big hit with the guys! Thanks Dave!

The game took about two hours and 45 minutes, including the time spent teaching the rules. I think I am sufficiently emboldened to try a 6 player scenario next time.... ;D

I think there are four new Pulp Alley players out there now....

A generous tip of the fedora to wulfgar22 for telling us all about ComicLife 3 software.... ;)  They give you a generous 30-day free trial, but I might as well pay up now 'cause it is a very nice program indeed.  8)

Wulfgar's wonderful AAR's for his exciting IHMN games gave me the inspiration for what you see above....It took me a bit to get the hang of it, but you can see the results are well worth it....

A new photo has emerged, showing Brian (in camouflage jacket) in his moment of triumph:

Mila and Dave: thanks so much for your kind words. Your support, both with advice and supplying prizes for the guys (not to mention your most excellent game and materials!) are greatly appreciated. Mila, everyone admired your brush work on those painted figures I purchased from you fine folks!  :-* :-*

And I just noticed a typo in the last sentence above: it should read "about to place it in the laboratory."  Dang.
