Pulp Cultists
« on: November 23, 2015, 08:51:17 AM »
I am very excited by the possabilities opened up with the new Frostgrave Plastic Cultists box set.

This is my first test conversion. Cut original hand off at wrist and replaced with one holding an automatic weapon from my bits box. (I think it's from Wargames Factory) plus an ammo pouch.

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be putting a cultist leage together based on conversions from this box so I will keep the thread updated with conversions, painting and finally some Pulp Alley cards for them.

They look like they'd make an excellent basis for cultists of all stripes (I'm thinking particularly of Strange Aeons & Pulp Alley).

Indeed, I am a big Pulp Alley fan so I will be building a league up based on these.

Nicely done, Chris!
 8) 8)

That was my thought when I fist saw these cultists.
I could do with a sprue to convert up to add to my own cult...when would I get the time, though?

Looks quite well, that sprue has a ton of possibilities. I plan to make some undead with it.
But, why all cultists (at least those I have seen in this forum) wear purple? Is a fashion trend? Did all cultist leaders gather and decided that purple was the colour to go? Or was it pictured on the Cultist Today?

Not ALL Cultists wear purple (although mine do!).
See this thread for a plethora of Cultists in all conceivable colour combinations (including purple!)....

Nice idea there. I am tempted by a box now. I have a few sprues of weapons lurking around...

Nice work, Chris. I shall look at my unused box of Frostgrave Cultists with a fresh eye.

Here are some photos of some Modern Frostgrave Cultists painted up.

The Frostgrave plastic cultist box is certainly very versatile! http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/epages/950003459.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950003459/Products/FGVP02

heh, I was thinking 'cigars of the pharoah' too (although I dislike any Herge stuff without the good captain H involved, generally).

Thanks David, I do love clear bases these days for my own collection, especially for Pulp Alley gaming where you want your figures to look good in the jungle, in the desert, in a warehouse on the deck of a ship etc. Nothing worse than figures standing on deck surrounded by their back garden!!

Agreed...but the white frosting is a shame though. Really stands out on the bases. I use Zap-a-gap for foam (with the Zipkicker) and it works well. Helps a lot with the frosting and gives a good bond:

Check below, little frosting hooray:
