Seeking good textured plasticard for roofing
« on: November 28, 2015, 12:00:52 AM »
I've run into a bit of a dead end, I've got 400sq cm of various roofs to make in 28mm, and individually laying them isn't really viable.

I'm found a lot of plasticard which is meant to be roof tiling but doesn't really cut the mustard. The best I've found so far is the Wills sheet, but ar 130x75 mm it's far too small.

This is what it looks like, isn't it grand?

Does anyone know of someone supplying bigger similar sheets?

Thanks in anticipation.  ;)

I'm going to put my best guess behind doll house supply stores.  If they don't have it you're probably out of luck - or trying to hide seams.  Good luck.

Fifteens, I'm still searching, most of the doll's house stuff is too large for 1:50th, but thanks.

Grant any idea which one? I downloaded the catalogue and it's just a list of numbers.

I'm sure I have it in my plastic sheets drawer. Standby, I'll have a code and a pic in about an hour.

I did try Antenocitis but the Slaters stuff just looks like tiling, with no overlap like you'd get with a roof tile.

The Charlie foxtrot stuff looks brilliant -great find - thanks!

Strange, 1/48th is pretty standard for doll house building and I just found a 15" x 15" sheet here:
1/48 doll house roofing sheets.  You think 1/48th not a good match for 1/50th?  Or is it the idea of using doll house stuff?  I haunt a local doll house store once or twice a year and almost always find useful stuff.

Excellent suggestion, in the end I'm going for the Charlie Foxtrot ones, there's a lot of flexibility with them and various types.

Thanks for all the suggestions, a few have made it onto my wants list.  8)

Feel bad about the bad link.  At least take a look.
