My own FIW project (Roger's rangers)
« on: December 01, 2015, 05:35:56 PM »
Some weeks ago I started to paint minis to play some french indian war scenes with Musket & Tomahawk rules. Mi first choice was british regular troops, but finally bought compagnies franches de la marine troops from Warlord miniatures. They have a colourful scheme and exciting background.
I hope you like it. Critiques and advices are welcome  :)

Another small step on my project: a cabin destined to put up trappers, settlers and, in general, tough frontier people  :)
It's made of PVC sheet, following the tuto published on Breaking War magazine issue 14.

My objetive was to test the textures and resolve some tecnic matter (like hide the corner joints, the roof, a chimeny tha t finally I don't included...) in order to gain quickness and quality in next buildings.

Critiques and advices are welcome, too  :)

Looks nice! I'm assuming this is a scratch-build. If so, how'd you do it? Feel free to give us your techniques. I think it will look great on the tabletop.

Thanks folks  :)

Yes, it's scratch-builded. I used a 4 mm PVC sheet fot the walls, drawing the outlines with a pencil. Then I marked with a serie of burins (even a toothpick) and a metallic brush to make texture. Not dificult, really.

For the windows and door I used balsa tree sheet, I marked it with the same treatment. The roof is made of cardboard.
Finally I primed on white, based on dark brown, and highlighted with some lays of ochre and grey, with some brown ink washing.

My english is not perfect... I hope I can explained yourself  ???
