Event Cards?
« on: December 03, 2015, 11:55:47 AM »
There are references to event cards in most of the T&T AAR's but cannot find any reference to them in the rules or colonial expansion.

Where are they from? How are they used?

They are not an official part of the game.  I believe a lot of people just like adding random events to give it that pulp like feel.  I have never used them though so I am not sure how people are inserting them into the game.  My guess is if a certain roll occurs someone might have to pull a card from the deck and abide by what it says.  Something along those lines.

I too would like to see and hear about these cards from those that use them.

Hi,

I have written Event Cards for Triumph & Tragedy in 2008. I use them for my participation games at varius game conventions and my private games.

Til now I havent published them on the website. They were actually written for more modern - ww1 and interwar games and for colonial games. Some T+T players asked me if they can try them and I emailed  the card set to them.

The set contains 28 cards. You have the usual cards like "out of Ammo, "Critters attack" or "lost" but also a lot of more sophisticated cards that effect the morale and tactical decisions. Like Our Hero is Down... Well he is actually not down, but the rumour spreads and all units loose one quality for this game turn.

You get also the Hold card where your opponent must show you his unit card turnpile and you can reorganise it if you like, or the Gritty Lads card - where a unit of your choice ignores suppression markers. And lots of more fun cards.

The use of this cards is scenario based. You get either a hand of cards at start of the game or at special event points or mission markers. You play them at the beginning of a turn or when your opponent activates. I still have plans to publish them or put them on the website to make them "official"

For further questions do not hesitate and contact me.

Cheers
Björn

Would be great to see them published, especially as an actual card deck.

Printer studio ( http://www.printerstudio.de/ ) do a print on demand service where you set up a deck which other people can buy and have printed and delivered from the site.
