The Sendai troops have Woodbine Design French Kepi heads. Not really Asiatic, but the kepi is correct, and they are clean shaven.

Time would not allow for the Katanas, so I modified some Perry Naginatas, of which I have far too many.

I ran out of hachimaki heads for the other two cavalrymen, so they will get put on the back burner until the New Year.

Lovely stuff, Crouchie. I especially like the cavalry conversions (I've been looking for info on Imperial cavalry for a while, but my google skills have let me down).

I watched Yae no Sakura recently, in preparation for jumping on the Boshin bandwagon. Quality stuff. There's a good film on Netflix at the mo, if you've got it - 'When the Last Sword is Drawn'. It focusses on a couple of the Shinsengumi.

Sorry I don't have info about Imperial cavalry, but I think that Crouchie have some pictures.
