Not initially. We fund the printing ourselves so we like to sell plenty of hard copies first.

I'm considering to ask a friend to buy me a copy when he goes to Salute, but I don't know Daisho neither. So could you please explain me how is swordfighting conducted in Blood Eagle, or can you point me to a place with a good review of it?
TIA

Tell your friend that it will be available exclusively on the Wargames Emporium stand.

Blood Eagle is based on the same core ruleset as In Her Majesty's Name and Daisho. The basic attack roll is 1d10 + the figure's fight value (+0 to +5) + the weapons attack value (-1 to +4). If you equal or beat the opponent's armour value (7-14) then you have hit and they must make a Fate roll. Figures can mob together to take down a single tougher opponent.

Failing the Fate roll means the figure is out of the game and, if they are in a campaign, means they must make a post game survival check. Rolling exactly equal to their Fate value means they are knocked down and can do nothing more this turn, but can try to get back up in subsequent turns.

Figures can have a variety of traits which allow more tactical choices or advantages in combat. For example, Heroes get a limited number of die rerolls.

The whole game takes about ten minutes to learn. At shows, we get people up and running on the participation boards in that time and then leave them to it.

Because of the alternating figure activation system across each of three phases (movement, shooting and fighting) the game is very tactical and fluid.

Although we present a dozen warbands in the book, the entire points system is described so you can research and create your own period forces if you so wish making it ideal for players who want to exercise their creativity.

I'll do, thanks.
Doesn't the defender use his fight value then? Does the attacker roll to see if he scores higher than defender's armour and then the defender makes a fate roll to see if he's wounded, but doesn't use his own fight value to decide who wins the meleé?
Sorry for so many questions.

No, the defender doesn't use their fight value. With alternating figure activation in each phase it is a tactical skill to decide which of your figures in a fight go in which order knowing that after each figure is chosen to fight one of the opponent's figures shall also have that chance. Choose wisely and you shall be victorious.
