Thank you for the kind remarks.

I actually just this morning read an article about an archaeological excavation near the town of Ashkelon in Isreal where archaeologist using DNA proved that several individuals from a presumes Philistine burial site originated from Crete. A connection between the Myceneans or other Greek people, the Philistines, and the Seapeople have been put forward several times. We might be on the verge of actually finding out who the Seapeople actually were!!

Cheers

Yes, I read that, too. And if you look at Philistine pottery and figurines, they both look very similar to Mycenean. But the story is even cooler, when you look at those scattered Europeans Bronze swords ...

I finally managed to base my Hittites. As usual I am using Dr. Zombies basing idea with individually based miniatures on a multibase with extra miniatures on. 12 model units with 16 when including the extra models on the multibase. Perfect for our mix between Lions Rampant and Hail Caesar or To the Strongest

They are Warlords Cutting Edge models witch should be obvious when compared to the Seapeople I posted earlier. The unit doesn't look so tightly packed as the miniatures are so slim. I think I will use Foundry Hitties next time. Even though the Cutting Edge are probably more realistic proportioned, I like them i bit more chunky!

Chariots and skirmishers on the way

The basing idea is quite very good for irregular units or crowded ones  :-*
But not lot of room to put figurines on the base....Otherwise filing one base hole for this purpose.

Hello again
Progress on my Trojan army continuous alongside the Hittite army. I am building on the Chariot Rampant force that started this entire tread back in 2016. My Mycenaean spearman where in need of assistance and have been boosted and received proper basing using Dr. Zombies basing method. The extras on the bases are Redoubt Miniatures and even though they are from some very old molds, they still do the job when joined by Foundry models. The reinforcements for these spearmen where painted using the new contrast paints. Close to half the models are painted with contrast paints. Of course, they do not look as good as the others do, but in when put in units and considering the big shield you cannot really tell the difference. I will definitely give these a go again. When used on the right models or for the right project they are splendid.

I now consider this Mycenaean infantry battalion (for lack of a better word I Hail Caesar language) complete. I might do some bases for the skirmishers and the commander would work best on a round base but other than that it’s done. Now I just have to wait for my next batch of chariots to arrive.

Cheers
Erik

Very nice looking Myceneans.  Nice to see the Foundry ones done up in a fashion not on their website.

I've got a mix of the Redoubt and Old Glory models, and the OG models are terrible.  Honestly some of the worst minis I've seen.  Someday I may have to try the Foundry range.
On time, on target, or the next one's free

Reinforcements continue to flow to my Mycenaean forces. This time in shape of two new chariots. Again from Reboubt. Together with my Foundry chariots they will form units of three models for Hail Caesar.

I dont have plans for any more as these guys will join forces with Dr. Zombies chariots to form a four unit strong battalion. In stead I am working om chariots for the Hittites at the moment. I hope to have six ready next week.

Cheers
