Another unit of skirmishers finished. I have started on the chariots tonight.

At the moment we use 8 and 4 strong units. We havent actually worked out how this will go once the dice start rolling, but I reckon we will either mark the first few casualties or just have the units die faster.

The plan ofcourse is first to upgrade to 12 strong units and then latter to maybe 16 strong that could be used in a Hail Ceasar game. Combined we would have a reasonable sized army. Then all we need is an opponent

If you use 8 and 4 strength I don't think you need to change a thing. Just remove figures as normal.
They fight with 12 dice until they are have lost 6/3 figures respectively.
In our experience, 12 strong units almost always rout when they drop to half strength anyway, and you 4 man unit is effectively a 6 man one which is removed when it gets down to 2 figures (when it is likely to rout off in any case).

It looks really good Erik. What colours do you use for the skin?

I am working on it! But Erik is cheating by distracting me with things like this:

I lost a whole evening of painting and I even lost the game..

Last night I finished my two chariots and I must admit that these models are truely the reason to start colecting mycenean miniatures. Only problem is they probably look better in Groups of six :D

I plan on going to Tactica this weekend, so I will probably pick up some more at the Foundry stand. One can never have enough chariost in this heroic periode!

Hey there Viking
For skin I use a basic skincolour. I use Army Painters Tanned Flesh at the moment, but use to have Vallejo (cant read the number any more though). I give it a wash with Army painter strong (not dip) tone and highlight with Foundry flesh 5B. I actually use Army Painter strong tone wash for all my models and then go back and highligt the stronger colours such as skin, blues, reds ect.

Well there it is. My part of our new years spure of the moment mycenean buy painted and ready for battle. I plane on using it as 1 chariot unit (6 points) 3 spearmen units (12 points) and two skirmishers (4 point). There should have been a MAA unit instead of one of the spearmen, but I have got my eyes set on the dendra armoured spearmen from Redoubt Miniatures to serve in this role so that will have to wait a bit

First up will also be a increase of the skirmishers to 6 miniature units, and then steadily building up the spearmen to 12 man units.

I also think this periode offers a great deal of excting modelling opportunities as Mycenean Castles, bronze and marble statues.

Beautiful work.. Only thing that stops me from getting some is my old aversion to chariots :)

Well done Erik.

I might be riding a lame horse. But I am still in this race.

Here is my latest work.
A chariot

And some more infantry.

The total work so far.
