I'm starting work on the 2' (60cm) x 2' (60cm) board I'll be using for Cold Wars 2007. I have just gotten started and thought I would share the first stage. Just some insulation foam, a couple of foamcore pieces and a cardboard tube so far.

The tiles are matteboard, covered with Sandy paste, then cut to size. A lot of work, but I like the texture effect.

Wouldn't cutting tiles out of 200-400 grit sandpaper glued to cardboard work just as well?

I also like your big tube of wood glue. Wood glue is my new favorite white glue.

It just might work. I'll have to go and take a look at Home Depot today. Thanks Pete!

Looks neat, encouraged me to get my finger out and do a bit more to the mosque and Rawn-li Station.

There are other "white glues" than wood glues? Really, I always thought "white glue" was a catch-all-phrase for those PVA (?) glues like Elmers or Ponal...

Okay, before this gets scooted off to "Language Adventure"...  :lol:

I always assumed:

Elmer's = PVA = white glue

But wood glue != white glue. Yes, it's water-soluble, but it's like the difference between attaching two things with chewing gum and attaching them with an acetylene weld.
