Next I got some paint on the Hirst arts corridors I had built ....

At this point I couldn't resist having a little go at setting up a dungeon. :D

... and this is everything I have done so far:
(All a bit monochrome so far ... but lots more colour to come).

This is a brilliant project.  Love the idea and the pieces are fantastic too.

Thats a lot of progress!

I really like the two quest rooms - again the 3D really makes them look so much better. But one point, the knight tomb is the wrong way round - I mean how could you, the whole thing is ruined now  ;-)

Do the tiles sit nicely, or do they slide around a bit? I have found adding felt to the bottom of terrain pieces can really help them stay in place.

The first page of pictures were last weekend and these pictures were the weekend we just had.
So this lot represents two days of making tiles and one evenings painting.

Agreed the rooms with different levels do add something.

That knight has never looked right to me .... so I fixed it. :D

They do sit nicely ... I don't know if it shows up well on the last photo but my dungeon boaard that the pieces are sitting on was painted with  textured paint ... well paint with a handful of sand chucked into it. :D ... so the gritty surface provides just the right ammount of grip for the tiles. ... This was luck not design ... it was done for some texture for the dry brushing of the board but it has all worked out rather well.

Yep, the original does look odd with his head to the door way. Have you been collecting resin bits to make these tiles, or are they just the use of the many useful bits we all collect?

I thought it was a textured gaming mat - but yes a bit of painted sand is marvellously grippy - I too have found this out by accident when getting a little on to the bottom of bases and the like.

I had some odd bits and bobs I had picked up on the way .... but then I found this guy on ebay selling some of this stuff as 'seconds' ... I assumed he had found a few bits from back in the day but he seems to have a bucket load of this stuff ... and is still selling it now ... so I have picked up quite a few bits for a good bit less than I might have paid for them ... although they do need a bit of cleaning up and green stuff work to get them back in shape.

That really looks awesome. I've been slowly collecting bits of styrofoam, though originally for making buildings with. I'm now seriously considering doing something different with them... thanks for the inspiration!
