I'll be there trading as Bad Squiddo Games/ The Dice Bag Lady with my huge selection of Believable Female Miniatures, Frostgrave Bonanza, Ristul's Extraordinary Terrain, and all sorts of bits and bobs and gaming accessories. Looking forward to a change of scene, so much in the north/midlands. AND get to have a paddle.

I was just looking at the BIC site and none of the links work to the Poole or SDMS clubs - I was part of the original South Dorset Military Society back in the 70's and early 80's before I went globetrotting for work.
None of my 'old' gaming friend still in the Bmth area seem to know about Beachhead.

Both the SDMS and PBA seem to be keeping a very low profile, there are a few disparate groups in the area, hopefully this show will bring some old faces out of the woodwork and clubs out of the closet. Perhaps give a chance to dust off the AWI and ECW figures.Keep well.

Typical - I'm in the US when Beachhead is on.

Good luck to the organisers, I hope it works out well enough for a Beachhead 2017 :)

Colonel Bills will be trading  :)

If there's any pre-orders people would like to make, could you please do so before the 17th February.

Thanks,
Roy

Well I went. I can't speak for anyone else but I thought, for a first attempt, it was rather good. Not interested in the tournament's, and I only spent about £120 on stuff I don't need, but  I thought the games on display were, in some cases, quite exceptional. Way above the average show stuff & a credit to those concerned. I hope it becomes a regular event, I can get the bus there. Thanks to those involved for taking the risk.

Interesting thoughts, unfortunately my impression afterwards was disappointing.
The prestigious venue actually worked well and the organisation was first rate, good selection of traders willing to take the risk, and a veritable horde of gamers.
But communications were poor. The Tournament gamers were intensely chanting their litany of plus 3 for this plus 2 for that. The demonstration games demonstrated lovingly painted figures on photographic drop cloths adorned with unpainted mdf treasure troves of buildings, not a scrap of paper to tell anyone, Who was running the game, what it was about, or why No contact information and worst of all NO Response to any questions or comments.
Where did all those gamers spring from? Did they return to their closets happy that they made no contacts with potential players? Did they feel they had wasted the opportunity?
I managed to meet up with a few old faces and play a bit of catch up, but found with one refreshing exception that they were no longer "wargamers"
They played WOW or Saga or Malifaux or Some meaningless anagram.
Only one said that they were playing Wars of The Roses USING A modified version of Hail Caeser  with House adaptations.
So The show was far far better than the gamers desrve. Comments anyone?

I thought it went well.  There was a great selection of traders.  I played 2 demo games and while I agree that there was a distinct lack of info on the games/clubs, I found the people to be friendly.

I hope the traders made enough from us to come back again next year with more of their colleagues.
