Realistic barbed wire
« on: February 10, 2016, 03:34:07 PM »
Hello fellow LAFers,

for my current Ardennes project I need a nice amount of barbed wire (for the fences that are so typical for that region). Until now I always did barbed wire myself by wrapping very thin wire around another, longer piece of thin wire. This is extremely time consuming unfortunately...

Do you know of a manufacturer of realistic 28mm scaled barbed wire? I absolutely hate these pseudo barbed wire things made from two intertwined pieces of wire...but I remember seeing a more realistic type around here somewhere, but I can't find it anymore!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can try cut out fly mesh which looks quite realistic.

Hannants (hannants.co.uk) stock the Eduard photo-etch barbed wire in 1/48 - probably close enough - though you might find a stockist nearer you.

I have loads of 1/35 scale models barbed wire from Verlinden products.
If you are interested we can deal ( trade/sale) them.
The advantage is I'm based in France (lowest shipping rates)
If I can I'll try to take a pic close to a 28mm figure.
Cordialement,
Fred
