Another new video for beginners today. This is a subject that a lot of painters struggle with for some reason.
So, new painters struggle no more. I demonstrate exactly what your paint should look like when 'milk consistency', and 'cream consistency', and how to apply it as a base coat.

Enjoy!

Quick Tip # 20 - How to Thin Paint, and Apply a Base Coat

A new episode released today, and it's one that will be in a long series of videos that will get released sporadically. I will cover all of the colours, starting with the easier ones.

This is some basic discussion of colours to use when shading and highlighting green.
In case you have a limited palette, I show you how to work with some very basic colours for shading and highlighting green.

I'll apologize for the number of sections where it is tough to see what's being painted. The model isn't the best for a painting demo such as this, so please bear with me.

You can always skip to the last 2 minutes for the basic points covered in the video.

Another video covering some basic techniques, and colours for painting bone, horn, and hooves.
There's plenty of close-up, 2-brush blending in this one, and a few mistakes where my paint dried before I could blend. Watch the first and second shades to learn how to fix a 'bathtub ring'.

I'm running a bit behind this week, due to having a corrupt music file. It forced me to render this one twice.
But, it's a frequent request. I've also switched methods for painting white, as traditional two brush blending provides a crisper, cleaner look.

Another video in the 'How to Paint a Colour' series. I demonstrate how to paint a cream, or ivory white, and discuss several colours that can be used for shading white.
Fast forward to the last 3 minutes of the video for the finished model and alternate shades discussion.

Fast forward to the last few minutes for the major points and alternate shades and highlights discussion.

Another demo in the 'How to Paint a Colour' series that covers a viewer request - purple.
This video contains some advanced tips and competition techniques, but will still be of use for beginners.
This video contains a lot of commentary. But, if you want just the colours useful for shading and highlighting purple, just watch the first 3 minutes and the last 3 minutes.
