Over the past year or so we have been working on a large Raphia project with a customer. We have been trying to fill out all the different units that he needed for the two sides involved. While we cannot do it all we have tried and to that end we did some Levy troops with an Egyptian flavour. We also decided to do them headless which means they can be given different head sets.
Simon tells me that the shield design is upside down and is for the opposition...
just what I had in front of me during the 2 hour rush to paint them...
In the near future we will be adding seleucid cavalry, thorakitai and remaking the phalanx section with the figures all being headless and the heads being available separately. Adam is also talking about another body in a later Linothorax armour style but we will see how we go on that one. We are also adding Samnite cavalry to the 3rd century BC stuff as promised. Once that lot are done then we are clear to tackle the Byzantines.
