Thanks!

He's a Mantic salamander like these ones, with the addition of a Tyranid weapon.

Thank you very much.

I have them on my to-buy list, for their obvious fantasy use. But I had never thought about sci-fi-ing them... until know. Your monochrome paintjob really shows that mini at it best. Much kudos.

I'm terribly late to this party, but I just wanted to add my two cents too.

I love that "warhammer Regiments" plastic Orc conversion. I've often thought of doing it too, but I wasn't sure how to go about Sc-fi'ng him up in a convincing manner. You've done it incredibly Mr Hobgoblin!

The RT "kulo" paint job looks ace....I really like the blue on his blade!

And the freehand faces are way cool. Keep em coming man, their really cool.

Thanks - glad they're going down well!

Here's a slightly better shot (I hope) of the last two - I think the lizard looks a bit more as he should in this one:

lovely paintwork, I like the desaturated tones, especially as has been said on the power armour.

The lizard looks like a bio-organic space marine, which is strange and wonderful.

Any chance for a "how-to" on your painting style?  I love the colors you are getting.  I have a few old beakies that I'd like to paint up and I love the way you capture the 40kRT look.

Sorry, missed this at the time! I undercoated white, washed in Agrax, drybrushed up in white and then did thin washes of paint and ink/wash over the top. There's a tutorial (along with a black-undercoat one) around page 65 of my fantasy thread (I think).

I've posted individual shots of these three on my fantasy thread, but here's a group shot for this one:

The hyena fellow is great! I love the white and orange. What's he made from?

He's got the arms of a "scifi greatcoat trooper" (by Warlord Games? The people who made the heartbreaking McBride-style orcs with the Playmobil hands.)

Thanks!

I added one more to the group: I was going for a Dune-style energy shield, but somewhat literalised:

They certainly have a number of their masters (not least the zombie and Japanese stuff).

Nice conversion of the gnolls.
