Frankensteins' Monster
« on: March 10, 2016, 09:56:55 PM »
I'm after figures for the Baron, his monster and Igor. I know Westwind and Blue Moon do some, are there any others I should be looking at ?

There's a new monster coming via the Studio Miniatures Kickstarter 'Hollywood Havoc' :

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

There is an excellent version from the Vesper-on Carnevale range:

Also, McMourning from the Malifaux range: http://www.wyrd-games.net/mcmourning/
(while for the mad doc himself I widely prefer the old metal sculpt: http://serpentarium-painting.blogspot.it/2014/12/mcbreakfast.html )
Unboxing with comparison of plastic and metal at the end: http://gmortschaotica.blogspot.it/2014/03/unboxing-malifaux-mcmourningss-body-of.html

Also a neat flesh golem was available in D&D prepainted line, alro reprinted (unpainted) in Ravenloft adventure game.

RAFM has a classic set. The scale may be smallish by today's standards, but it served me well enough for a LPL S08E08 entry with some Reaper and Eureka extras thrown in.

But I also have the West Wind freaks and assorted doctors painted, the shown Reaper's classic style monster just grabbed from Tactica, and the Eureka monster somewhere in the pile, just in case. I like science. ;)

The monster's just a larger human. Use a larger scale of model.

I like science. ;)

In this regard, although not strictly Frankenstein-related, I love this Reaper sculpt:

Very characterful.

From one of the Frother's sculpting comps.  Not sure if it was ever released separately.

Huge fun to paint.
