I especially like the skeleton emerging from the ground. Always a cool piece to see - it gives the scene some action.

That said, do you ladies and gents feel that the scenic placement and composition of the photo has as much impact on your voting as the actual painting of the minis? Personally, I try really hard to concentrate on the minis themselves, but you simply can't totally ignore the presentation, I don't think.

The scene always gets more votes than the miniatures (occasionally the scenery itself). I learnt that the hard way last year.

Sometimes I find it difficult to ignore a really spectacular background. But in the end it always comes down to good brushwork.
