I've played a few games of FIW over the years, mostly 'unit based' battles, and I've always liked the troops types, terrain, etc., but until I went to Scotland a couple of weeks ago I'd never found a set of rules that suited the generally 'small scale forces' of the conflict. Muskets and Tomahawks definitely has what the period calls for. I was suitably impressed. Of course, it always helps to get the juices flowing when it's a twelve player two day bash with The League of Gentleman Wargamers and luck is with you. I even beat Charles Grant on the first day.
