Agis Zombicide Black Plague/ Green Horde minis
« on: April 03, 2016, 09:49:42 AM »

Ann the somehow crazed Nun of the core Black Plague box.

Very quick paint job to get her on the table as fast as possible. I also tried something new for me, a painted only base, no texture at all involved.
I love the game addition, but the medieval fantasy setting is really not my thing.  :(
I really hope for a Zombicide SF setting!

Nice work as always.  Think the scifi Zombicide thing is a sure thing, just give them time.  The games are too popular for them to skip a futuristic version, and once they have all three setting periods out I bet we see a set of rules for crossover gaming between them.

Some of my friends are REALLY bitten by the Black Plague bug, a good opportunity to finish some of the minis that were already too long on my painting table:
Mizar and Donna Carlotta!

Group shot of the heroes painted so far, Little Prince (Gipi), Mizar (Bonner), Donna Carlotta (Gipi), Ann (Core box).

Donna Carlotta from the Gipi box ; I really, really like the sculpt. Not the stereotype girl in metal bikini hero!
Consequently I put some extra effort into the painting...

I bought this game a week ago and we promptly played the first two mission (0-1) the same evening. After the usual learning curve we had a lot of fun and some good laughs :) I haven't played the normal Zombicide game but I really like the medieval setting and I plan to get some expansions soon, as I think that the measly two dungeon equipment cards and low number of different enemies will get old fat :)

Your minis are great as always, of course. The flat painted base looks good! A thick scuplted or flocked base would look strange on the largely cobbled streets.

If you have any unpainted expansions (not interested in the guest stars though) you want to get rid of drop me a message ;)

Thanks folks!

Uups, no - only Ann was quick painted. Mizar and Carlotta are full effort!

Expansions - there is only the Wulfsburg one.
All the rest are minor tweaks.
Cabal of Necromancers, NPC Zombies etc.

I would also advice to play the Core box missions just out of the box, it soon gets very strange when you randomly drop in weapons from Wulfsburg etc.

I'm a big fan of Gipi's work, so I'm really excited about these models! They look quite well done.
I love your pj on "Principino" too: very in the mood of the game art!

Big thanks - I took extra pains to get the "Brutal" look right!
I really like the 4 Gipi heroes, they make also a lot of sense game wise.
Nice synergy.

Amazing what you did to those models... Both choice of colours and the quality of your painting are as inspiring as outstanding. Love them  :).
Btw, did you need to straighten the plastics a a bit or were yours good ebough alreay? My plague doctor e.g., his sword looks like a pig's tail... And also the hard-to-remove mouldlines have stopped me from trying to paint them so far...

LOvely brushwork as always, particularly on that big lass.
She is a really good sculpt, full of character, much more like e Sister of Sigmar should really look like.
 :-* :-*

Our group have played the first five missions from the box over the last few weeks and I have thoroughly enjoyed it as a nice break from 'standard' tabletop gaming. I think I prefer this version to the modern setting, though.
That may be due to the fact that I prefer 'fantasy' settings for gaming over more 'real' alternatives.

And I do know that Zombies are not real!
 ;)

The most of my base game models were also bent, mostly swords, but I found that just giving the part a quick bath in hot water makes it straighten out on it's own without the need for an additional shock therapy in cold water  :)

I simply scratched the mold lines away, most swords were straight, if not I dipped them in hot water (half a coffeecup water for 1 Min in the Microwave at 900W), straightened them out and fixed them under cold water - Done!

LOL, for me it is the other way around, I really dislike Fantasy settings, but I agree  Black Plague is the more seasoned game compared to the original Zcide.

I am still hoping for a SF version!!!

I am sure they will bring one out as making a new Zcide setting is like having a licence to print money.
