It is satisying to bring little known periods to other gamers, and to give them some minis with which to stsrt delving into these campaigns.

An officer is on the sculpting table as I type, this will be followed by a Wien Academic Legion fig that can be used for The Vienna Uprising and also as part of The Hungarian Army., these will be followed by a standard bearer and Artillery man.

And here he commands "At the Austrians" the latest 28mm Honved to join thd collection. The figure represents an officer or senior commander.

just a question.as i only play Italian Risorgimento for this period..with a soft spot for Conservative anti revolutionary Armies (in practice all the ennemies of Garibaldi and Piedmont)  ...and Imperial Austrian Army that fought at Palestro/Solferino is among them..the core of my army being made of Mirliton castings of which the Hungarian component is not well represented and distinctivly made...so i would be in need of minis to represent both Grenzers and Hungarian line...well as i like those minis appearing in your picts do you think that the figures representing Honved could be ok for the 1859 above mentioned troops?..and in case..how is the compability of S. Barber sculpts with other manufactures like Foundry, Mirliton ecc...are they on the average scale or are they big ones like Redoubt ecc..?

I would say Steves figures are compatible with Perry Miniatures, from recollection Mirliton are considerably smaller.......The only fig which could be used(1859) will be the figure wearing kepi, I have just checked my ref material, I assume this is for The Hungarian Legion- Red kepi with sky blue band, tobacco brown jacket with red braid, Cornflower blue leggings

Thanks Shipka for the further infos...i was in fact thinking at those very figures with képi..as the headgear shape seem the right one also for 1859...the close fitting trousers typical Hungarian are well designed in those minis (contrary to Mirliton ones)..i imagine the equipment/pouches/blanket being the same...maybe also the figures in coat are ok for 1859...also if the sunny Italian battlefileds call for just kittel ..
