I applaud your heraldic endeavours. A really nicely themed retinue coming along there...
I'm pressing ahead with my Lannister forces and they are the devil's own job to do... the blazons are all bloomin' animals... lions, hounds, boars, oxen, peacocks, even beetles! It's the stuff of nightmares in 28mm...

Given that some of GRRMs own heraldic inventions in the books make little sense in terms of either basic colour theory or legibility / visibility (never mind historical heraldic practice), it's unsurprising that his acolytes come up with equally ineffective blazons. Richard, a tip... When I did my Roose Bolton, I figured he would have had a skilled AD make a rather impressive shield designed for him, so I took a fine aluminum mesh as a guide upon the shield and made small red paint dots off the pattern. As symmetry does not always come naturally to me I found this a nice help.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was written by GRRM as far as I am aware. I think it's a sort of a prequel but not.

I've made a little warband for my implementation of Frostgrave (locally called 'Fallgrave') which I build with my sons. This rowdy lot is constructed around an Enchanter wizard and apprentice, which both look rugged enough to blend nicely with the barbarian sprue I gave my younger son (Can O'Beer) last Christmas. We also threw a cultist tracker in the mix for good measure.

In my experience it is rare that optional-position kits doesn't leave the miniatures looking like the arms are stuck on. Therefore the arms of most the barbarians have gone through substantial modification. I have hollowed out the shoulder joints and rounded the upper arms to get a tighter fit. Some arms are changed to get a more dynamic fighting position.

I love your excessive use of birch seed pods - I am yet to find the right time to collect the seeds for drying to make my own supply.

Also glad to see that the rulebook is causing minis to get painted!
