I’m not painting anything now as I’m currently visiting the folks back in the home country. I can’t remember the last time I went so long without holding a brush. :( On the plus side my mum found a load of old gw stuff for me to take back and I’m visiting Warhammer World for the first time in a few days. :)

I’ve also had time to catch up with the marvel tutorials

Today marks my third year of living in the USA and to celebrate I painted Captain America. I was feeling a bit adventurous so went with nmm on the shield which didn't turn out quite right but it looks better than flat colours.

I painted up Nova today. I made a bit of a mess of the start but managed to salvage it and the result wasn't too bad in the end. Probably should have used a reference for the helmet though - couldn't quite figure out the nmm and it looks quite flat in comparison to the rest.

Thanks for the tutorial on the Capt! That will really help my painting. It's always nice to see how the experts do it!

Nova is looking great! My fave bits are the gold/bronze metal plates! :o :o :o

Is the actual right leg painted to look as though it's in the shade or is that just a trick of the light?

It's a combination of painted shading and actual cast shadow. I tend to forget to bounce light from beneath the model.
