Hi,

I didn't mind the lack of alien creatures in the Firefly/Serenity universe, but I didn't really care for the total absence of robots, droids, etc.

Well, I have undergone several surgeries in the last couple of years and have done little to nothing in the way of miniatures during that time, specially what I like most which is terrain.  Well, working from my recliner I finally started on something new.  Here it is on my tv-table.  It is a work-in-progress mind you.

So what do you think it should become?  I started off thinking of a robot inventor or mechanic's shop of some sort, with a new or refurbished bot sitting on the window or something, and with small security hover drones hovering about at night to keep the place safe.

I still have a lot to do to it, like doors, awning, floor, front decking, etc.  But what does it look like to YOU so far?  Shop or house?

And these are some of the hover bots that will be serviced at that location:

When the time comes, I'll add the appropriate bilingual signs and such:

Thanks,

Cool. I like the look of this, and the idea of a robot repair shop.

Welcome back to making stuff!

Round windows, check.
ramshackle roof, check.
slightly Asian inspired, check.

I like it!

This is kewl. I like the scale too - I find hat a lot of off the shelf 15mm buildings are a touch small. Its because of the bases normally, but it bothers me. This seems to be 'big' 15mm, which I like.

Thanks so much!

However, please note that I still haven't added the door and the floor, along with a few other things.

I will try to follow something close to realistic door and window widths:

However, for height the levels (top of doors, windows, walls, ceiling, roof, etc) should all be increased by 2 or 3mm whenever possible, to compensate for the washer or base on the figures.  Otherwise it will look like our figures are all walking around on something nine inch heels - and hitting their heads against everything.  :)

In the end, playability will be the deciding factor, of course.
