This one was a very tough choice indeed, both are superb.

Both great entries. I'm gonna give it to the Normans, because the wonderful shields and the backdrop do it for me!

Both excellent. At first I was seduced by the brilliance of Michi's Norman shields - such glorious freehand patterns and colours, and lovely lovely scarring and weathering.
But then I was won over by the wonderful subtlety of Orctrader's blacks, whites, metallic and flesh tones, and that lovely velvety finish  :-*
But you couldn't really put a fag paper between these two in terms of quality - very different techniques, but I'd be delighted to have either of these sets of miniatures in my collection.

The good Captain has summed up the attributes of both these entries more eloquently than I could have.
Lovely entries both

Michi please could you tell me about the tufts - are they homemade or bought and if so what size please?
I'd like to be able to get decent sized pieces of long grass like this
I cannot pretend to feel impartial about colours. I rejoice with the brilliant ones and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns. - Winston Churchill

Blimey, this is about the fourth match-up in a row this round where I've seen the first and thought "ok, that one", then scrolled to see the second... Seems like everyone has really upped their game for this round. So many beautifully painted and staged miniatures!

These are NOCH 07133 assorted tufts in different shades. The fibres are around 4-6mm, I guess.

Very hard to choose on this one! The shields on the Normans are amazing  though! Then again, so are the Argonauts...
