D&D Bestiary
« on: May 06, 2016, 12:20:14 PM »
Hi there, since the bottom fell out of WFB I've been searching for a modelling direction, and now seem to have found one! Slowly attempting to build up a fairly comprehensive collection of generic fantasy models that I like for D&D or the like. I've already finished some, so thought I'd stick them up here so as to give myself a record and some accountability to keep going

Giant Snakes, paint scheme based on gopher snakes (Otherworld Miniatures)

Bugbears (Reaper Bones)

Little Troll (Warploque Miniatures)

And Griffon 1 (I intend to do a pair given their mythological monogamy). (Games Workshop, OOP)

I love classic D&D. If you haven't already seen them check out Otherworld Miniatures. They make the best in 28mm (but not cheap)

Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

As mentioned, the snakes are indeed otherworld - I agree both on their quality and their price... I'll try and mention mini sources as I go, just in case anyone finds it useful :)
Thanks, Elbows!

A few more:

Clay Golem (micro art studio)

Troll 2 (Warploque)

And both trolls together. Just chillin', in a phenomenally angry troll sort of way

Giant lizards (otherworld)

Wood Elf Hero (GW)

Treants (GW)

Treeman (GW)

Green Dragon (GW)

You have a FANTASTIC array of BEAUTIFUL creations. The Warloque Trolls are my personal favorite...they are charming characters. All are WONDERFULLY WELL DONE!

Nice work, and a fine idea for a project.  Have to check out Warploque, never seen those figs before and I quite like the sculpting style.

Thanks all! Glad to see the Warploque trolls getting so much love, I really like their character. Considering adding tails someday to make them look even more scandinavian, but that can wait. In case I add anything that's new to people, if anyone wants to know scale just ask and I can stick up pics with frostgrave/warhammer infantry for comparison.

A couple more:

Small band of heroes (from left to right: Scibor miniatures, GW, Darksword, DGS Games via the Dice Bag Lady, shield and sword added from plastic kits) Never quite finished the extravagant bard/sorcerer, might come back to him some day in the far future.

Dynwocor (Mierce) with GW Wood Elf for size comparison. Using it as a swamp troll style boss. Never seen such fine, sharp teeth before!

More critters, and a few allies - though critters can be allies too, I guess.

From left to right: porter from Otherworld, GW mage and Frostgrave Alchemist

Giant Weasels (Otherworld)

Black Bear (Reaper Bones)

Frog (Otherworld), rattlesnake (Old GW) and weasel (Otherworld)

Goblin Wizard (GW Gnoblar)

Bog Creatures/small lizardfolk (GW Terradon Skinks)

Walking dead (Mantic Ghouls)

A lot of great work here - I think the Griffon is my favorite, followed by the giant lizards.
