One more battalion rolling off the workbench:

60th (Victoria Rifles) Battalion

One more battalion to finish up the Division. Hopefully I'll get to that over the (long) weekend!

and one final battalion rolling off the workbench to finish up a brigade...

58th (Central Ontario) Battalion.

This battalion finishes off the 9th Brigade

9th Brigade, 3rd Canadian Division.

I still need a Trench Mortar Battery for this Brigade (unfortunately Brigade games does not make one - and all the other figures in this brigade are from Brigade games...)

Finshing this brigade also finishes up the entire 3rd Canadian Division! I'll have to clear off a table and take a picture of the whole Division formed up!

I also happened to finish up a few odd extra figures this week...

Trench Raiders (also from Brigade Games)

Sniper from Great War Miniatures.

They all look pretty good.

I'll have to clear off a table and take a picture of the whole Division formed up!

Looking forward to it.

Thanks Guys!

Nice, did you plan to get some tanks?

I do have some tanks. I haven't painted them yet.

I'm not sure if I'm going to worry about them for the Vimy project I'm currently working on. I know there were a few tanks attached to the Canadian Corps for the attack on Vimy, but if memory serves me correctly I think they all bogged down with in a few yards of the Canadian lines. I suppose if I have the time I'll get them done and just make them really slow and have to pass really hard bog checks every turn...

I'll definitely have some ready for when I get to Amiens and Cambrai!

Lovely work!

We are going to putting on a reproduction of Vimy Ridge in 6mm during the anniversary. It will be staged in the Ottawa War Museum. Look forward to seeing anyone from the area who can drop by.

Starting in on the Frist Canadian Division, I finished up two battalions of the 2nd Brigade this week. Truthfully, on of the battalions was 80% done previously (I only had to paint two new figures and touch up the helmets and formation patches)...

The 5th (Western Cavalry) Battalion, CEF was originally recruited largely from Militia Cavalry units in Western Canada – but went off to war as regular infantry.

10th Battalion, CEF.

All the figures in the 2nd Brigade are from Old Glory Miniatures. Each has two options for the lewis gunner: one that's prone and one that is standing, with his lewis gun out front - to be set upon a trench parapet.

I'm just about finished a third battalion for this brigade and should have the fourth done sometime next week. then it's onto the First Brigade... or perhaps some Germans.

Beautiful collection.  The models are stellar and the trenchworks you are photographing them on is fantastic!

Hi Tim,
I haven't been on LAF for awhile and didn't see your superb work!
Our group is contemplating doing Vimy as well, next year at Enfilade.
I have 100 Old Glory Canadians painted already.
Chris Leach, "Battles for Empire 1and 2" Shako 2 of our group has agreed to write some rules for the game. Not sure when?
Your work is inspiring!
Cheers
Thomas

Back after a two week hiatus largely due to Game of Thrones Season Five DVDs and a brief hospital stay (totally unrelated) and finshed up a few Trench Mortar teams (batteries in my Vimy game)

2nd and 3rd Trench Mortar Batteries - attached to the 2nd and 3rd Brigades of the 1st Canadian Division.
