I know them but they are not ultra modern, and I prefer the empress stuff.

Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

As I have said before, I prefer the empress stuff !

There is plenty stuff for the us and british army in many manufacturer.

Just one for the french army. Why I can't hope to see some other models ?

And I like to see the felin system.

I believe he meant French regulars. But you are correct about how western SOF pretty much look the same.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I think that the French and Germans that Eureka has are starting to show their age a little. The new Eureka stuff, like the Afghan National Police, are great, but the French, Germans, and the earlier stuff look a little stumpy compared to their new stuff and Empress. I'm not saying that they are bad, but due to the fantastic quality of the current range of moderns, I don't think I would be happy with them as I am a bit of a figures snob when it comes to moderns. Empress and Spectre are what got me into the period, so now I have grown accustomed to a certain standard of living, haha. I would definitely go in on both French and Germans if Empress makes them (even if I have to wait for months or years) rather than settle for the Eureka ones. I have some of the newer Eureka figs and I love them, but I would much rather buy a future range from Empress than the current French and Germans from Eureka.

The guys that run Eureka are great and I'm loving their new stuff, but some of the old stuff just isn't doing it for me. I certainly do not presume to demand that they resculpt their old ranges, but if they were to do so, I think that they could seriously compete with Empress.

Who needs boring special forces? We the need the Type99A1!  lol

Now, everyone knows I love empress stuff, but I do not see the real point for plenty of duplicates... I would like to seem something different from the French (the Eureka sculpts are very  good and current, the Felin system is quite slow to get in). Now if Empress start to talk about AMX10RC, and Leclerc... but frankly my first request would be JGSDF, ROKA and KPA. No one does them in 28mm (Eureka has nice Japanese in their Kriegspiel range, but they are 25mm).

Well I would likes to see a few more figs with QBB-95's and what I believe is the type 74 flame thrower.

Oh well, horses for courses, tastes differ.

I have the Eureka French, they are lovely sculpts, paint up beautifully and frankly if you think there's much difference in the sculpts to the more recent ones, then you must have better vision or more exacting standards than I.  I prefer them to what else is out there as Kosta's posing is a lot more natural and fluid than what else is on the market. As for their modernity, I think the photos above demonstrate that they are quite accurate in terms of current kit.

It would be nice to see new ranges that expand the possibilities available rather than just repeating them but makers need to be guided by what will sell.

....  It would be nice to see new ranges that expand the possibilities available rather than just repeating them but makers need to be guided by what will sell.

Yeah that's a tricky one. Firstly the fact that businesses are in generally in competition and not partnerships. This often means having similar ranges to provide customers with a "one stop shop" and making sure no one dominates where your lunch is cooked makes good sense. In our packaging business we always made sure we had our opposition covered ....

Also, you have the same issues as with other historicals, people don't often want to mix sculpting styles and figure heights and proportions with the same collection unless there really is no alternative.  Back when we had Napoleonic armies for example we only used Foundry, most friends only used Front Rank and a few wouldn't purchase from one or the other for style and consistency reasons. The 20mm WW2 market is the same, everyone pretty much offers the same core ranges with a few specialties thrown in for difference.

Anyway, I digress ....... great looking figs Paul!

cheers
